hummingbird ADC 2009

My husband passed away in the winter 2009. While he had significant health issue, his death was sudden/unexpected.

Earlier that winter, we had placed a hummingbird feeder in our yard. Living in south, we hoped to attract migratory hummingbirds during their winter migration.

The hummingbirds never came to our feeder until the day after my husbands death. That very morning a female hummingbird appeared and stayed the entire winter. Since the winter of 2009, every November she returns and is the only hummingbird to visit my feeder.

How do I know it's the same bird? She winters in the same oak tree and her flight pattern and daily feeding routine never changes.

I can't help but believe that this small incredible bird that has traveled thousands of miles is a signal from my husband.

Dear Joan,

Thanks for sharing your story. I'm not sure why, but it seems that hummingbirds often serve as messengers and signs from the afterlife. I've heard many ADC stories where they're involved. I agree the coincidence of having the hummingbird appear the day after your husband's passing and continue to stay and appear is not a coincidence at all!!

How wonderful that you have this ongoing sign from your husband,

With Love,
Faye
